14 July 08 Provisional Ladder and other results
This isn't the official ladder just a quick calc based on reported scores to date (and the website's memory of what Tony told us the scores were) but since percentage isn't an issue for us its interesting anyway (Gaz get the scores in!)
Anyway the ladder as calculated by the website including percentages is below. The only change is that South Croydon's win over Kilsyth has jumped them up a spot and kept their slim final chance alive. For us the situation remains the same beat Mooroolbark next week and our destiny is on our hands.
From here Forest Hill plays Nth Ringwood, Kilsyth and Sth Croydon. Mooroolbark plays Chirnside Park, Bayswater and then Nunawading

13 Jul 08 Vets Win @ Vermont 87 - 47?
After a lacklustre first half the Vets finally clicked into gear for the first time in a the last few matches to run all over Vermont.
Half time saw the 2 teams only separated by a point with CPFC just in front. However after an impassioned half time address by Mick the team came out to roll over the top of Vermont. The bench was also most impressed at several efforts of accountable play by Willow.
Website BOG award definitely goes to Peter Bolan for sensational ruck work and hard work around the ground. Also good were: Pete Schilling showed determined attack on the ball and lots of second efforts but was mostly rested in the second half. Muzza's contests against much larger blokes and run and chase was inspirational. Andy McHutchison made the most of his opportunities on the ground including a sensational pack busting mark.
New recruit Steve was more than handy and looked like a champion footballer trapped in a fat mans body. Andy also came good in the second half to kick 4 goals.

The Vets still have a chance to play finals but form will need to lift and they will have to stop giving such a large amount of game time to tired old hacks like Nick Sibbing.
The Vets would probably have to win all their 4 remaining games, Vermont, Mooroolbark, Nunawading and Nth Ringwood, and hope that the tough run home for the teams above us creates some opportunities. Or as coach Mick says "now its the mathematicals boys, the mathematicals".
In the run home the 2 teams above us: Forest Hill and Mooroolbark play each other in round 6. Then Forest Hill plays Nth Ringwood, Kilsyth and Sth Croydon. Mooroolbark plays Chirnside Park, Bayswater and then Nunawading
