We finished second on the ladder with 12 wins and two loses and have beaten all the teams.
Today we were playing North Ringwood in a qualifying final at Ferntree Gully reserve. We had played them twice this season beating them by 1 point in round 4 and again winning by 32 points in round 10. So we had a good chance to get a win, but always knew finals footy is a different ball game.
The first quarter was pretty even with both teams going in hard for the ball but North Ringwood managed to kick 2 goals late in the quarter to give them a 12 point lead at quarter time. In the break we told the boys to go back to basics, man up in the backline and in front in the forward line.
In the second quarter we lifted kicking 4 goals with Alex out centre half forward on fire giving us an 8 point lead at half time. After half time we continued to put pressure on North Ringwood with our backline working well not allowing them to score. In the final quarter our fitness, leg speed and quick hands were too much for the opposition getting us over the line by 22 points.
Great to see so many people supporting the team on Sunday, we certainly out numbered the opposition. Great effort boys.
