After a very good fortnight of football where we were playing to keep ourselves in the race for the finals we came up against a lowly placed South Belgrave needing a vital percentage boost to help our chances. At home for the second last time this year, and on what was a perfect day for football we jumped out of the blocks kicking 2 goals in the first 4 minutes before Sth Belgrave settled. Our run and dominance once again came to the fold and was giving our dangerous forwards many opportunities allowing us to kick 6 unanswered goals in the opening stanza. The second term was alot like our first and at somestages resembled a bit of a training drill, however due to some inaccurate kicking we only found uorselves up by 10 goals at half time. Knowing that we had the opportunity to really smash Sth Belgrave the boys were instructed to continue working hard for the next half to ensure we could gain every little bit of percentage that we needed over the next hour of football. We started the 3rd quarter well by kicking a couple early and were able to keep up our dominace for the entire 3rd quarter kicking 7.6 to 3.3 to be up by 90 points at the last change. With the boys minds starting to wander at 3/4 time and thinking of the first beer at 2pm the boys were hastly reminded by their coach that there was a job still to be done and were reminded up the last term up at Ferntree Gully a few weeks prior. Instructions were to win by no less that 20 goals, and to the boys credit we did that, however we didnt really run out the game as we would have liked. We now see ourselves sitting out of the top 4 by 1.5% and only a game off second spot. Its going to come down to the wire.
